How to use this honestly

Don't optimize for the result. If you find yourself adjusting weights to make a vendor "win," you've already decided. The point of the scorecard is to surface where your gut is overruling the math — and to make that decision conscious.

Score what's real, not what's promised. Use the demo, talk to a reference, ask the support team a hard question. Sales decks should not influence your scores.

One criterion shouldn't decide it. If the verdict swings entirely on one weighted score, tighten the weight or split that criterion into two. Real vendor decisions rarely come down to a single dimension.
